My parents found this beautiful Chippendale chair at an estate sale for only $25. My mom let me have it since she knew we would be able to give it a little love and attention. First we had to fix the spindles because they were coming loose. We did this with wood glue and clamps. Then came a lot of sanding and wood putty to fill in any areas that were damaged. Then more sanding! Next my husband had to make a seat since there was not one. He did this by cutting out a piece of plywood to the fit in the seat frame which was still intact. We then used Pure Foam Cushion from Michaels. We used two layers to make the chair extra soft. I found some great fabric on Esty (pictured above but no longer for sale) which we used to cover the foam and using a staple gun we secured it to the bottom of the plywood seat. We then used a white lacquer spray paint before securing the cushion seat. I absolutely love this chair and including the original price it only cost us $50. I have a before picture below but we had already started the process in this photo. You can get a general idea about how it looked when my parents purchased it.
