Signature Drink – French 75

I have always thought of cocktails at home as such a “vintage” concept but this is most likely due to my grandmother’s love of a cocktail at 5! She always called them her toddies. I wanted to make a signature toddy for my parent’s 70th birthday party and since my mom’s favorite is a French 75 it was a no brainer. I tried out several different recipes all were good but not exactly what I wanted so we started mixing up our own recipes. Once we finally came up with the perfect portions I wrote it down so we could use it for the party. We like our French 75 sweet but not too sweet so if you prefer really sweet drinks then this may not be the recipe for you. Of course after all this the party was cancelled due to covid but I still mixed my mom a few to celebrate her big 70.

INGREDIENTS

1 ounce of Gin

1/2 ounce of water

1/2 ounce of lemon juice

1/2 ounce of simple syrup

3 ounces of Champagne ( My mom prefers prosecco so that is what I used)

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Then shake, pour and ENJOY!
