We finally finished my niece’s bedroom just in time for her Birthday. We started the process of designing her room on Pinterest trying to decide what Style she really liked. Once she picked out a Boho theme that would be dark and moody we went to Sherwin Williams and picked out paint colors. We chose Blue Peacock for the accent wall and Snowbound for the other 3 walls. We got Moscow Nights for the headboard and the side table that I redid. Next week I am going to share both DIYs for the headboard and side table.

Our color palette at this point was teal, navy and white but I really wanted to add in some mauve. My niece does not like pink but she loved the deep color of the mauve. We picked out the cutest navy fur bedding and added a sweet mauve throw pillow. My niece did not want a bed that was hard to makeup so I kept things simple. She also wanted an area to do her hair and makeup so I got this super affordable desk at Ikea and the cute mauve velvet stool off of amazon. The mirror was our favorite though. As soon as I saw it at Target I knew we had to have it in her room. Originally I wanted to put it over the bed but since she needed a makeup spot I decided the mirror over the desk was best. We found this moon wall décor at Homegoods which turned out perfect over the bed.

I then ordered these gorgeous velvet drapes in dusty rose (which is mauve by a different name). The bookcase and reading area are by far her favorite. We did not spend much on the bookcase since we were redoing the entire room. We got this adorable chair at Target from the Studio McGee collection but we had to have a pouf so she could prop her feet up to read. We also added soft lighting where ever we could. I added fairy lights to the headboard, LED strip lights to the back of the bookcase and the cute “Hello” light up sign. My niece loves to sit in her room with just these lights on and listen to her music. This may have been one of the funniest room makeovers I have ever done. This is not a style that I am familiar with but I loved stepping outside of my comfort zone.

I hope you like the final product as much as my niece!
